Movie Review: Tropic Thunder

Posted on August 25, 2008

Alright, here's the Tropic Thunder Review I have been promising for the past couple of days.

Plot:
Through a series of freak occurrences, a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying. (From IMDB.com)

My Review:
After selecting between 3 hit or miss comedies: Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, and Tropic Thunder, my friend and I decided to check out Tropic Thunder. Going into the movie, I was weary of what to expect from Ben Stiller. I'm not a huge fan of him and can't say I've loved any movie he's starred in. However, I was fairly surprised with his performance in this movie. Overall, the movie wasn't overally funny, but it was entertaining to say the least. Tom Cruise even has a role in this movie, which I didn't realize until after the fact. If you're into stupid humor or need something light to watch, I recommend Tropic Thunder to you.

Rating: ★★★½☆

  1. Robert Downey Jr. cracks me up… he’s got a real knack for not taking himself too seriously
